Is there a difference between machine vision systems and machine vision sensors?
所属分类:
【概要描述】Machine vision sensors are designed to be easy to install and deploy so that factory personnel can usually complete setup and configuration without a lot of outside help. If imaging work only needs to be done/not simple judgment, the company may need vision sensors, while machine vision systems require more expertise and a lot of time and money to complete configuration, installation and training. Often, companies rely on third-party integrators with extensive expertise in visual systems. What's the difference? Let's take a look: 1. Visual sensors are responsible for performing simple checks, such as answering simple yes or no questions on the production line. 2. The vision system is responsible for complex tasks, such as helping robot arms weld parts in automated factories. 3. Machine vision sensors can collect light waves from camera lenses and convert optical data into pixels, which together with digital signal processors generate digital images. Software analyzes pixel patterns and displays key data about the subject. Many automated factory tasks require simple and straightforward vision sensor data: Present or absent - Determine if there are parts in the sensor field of view? If the sensor answers yes, the machine vision software allows the part to move to the correct position during production. Inspection - Determine if the part is damaged or defective? If the sensor detects a defect, the part will be removed from production. Optical Character recognition (OCR) - Does a part have a specific text or text? Answering this question can help an automated system categorize products by brand name or product description.
